Misa Labarile, PhD, is a policy officer at the European Commission (DG MOVE), shaping EU tourism policy. For four years she’s worked on digitalisation and smart tourism management, hosting the EU Smart Tourism podcast and managing the European Capital of Tourism competition. She’s now developing the 2026 EU Strategy for Sustainable Tourism. A linguist and social scientist, she has 15+ years in EU affairs, including advising two Italian Prime Ministers on EU matters.
