Mercè Escrichs Saez

I have worked in the General Directorate of Tourism of the Generalitat of Catalonia since 1988, in which I have developed various functions both as a technician and as head of various areas. Since 2016, I have directed the Tourism Knowledge, Quality and Competitiveness area, the body responsible for obtaining, exploiting and analyzing data of interest to the tourism sector, among other functions. Graduate in law from the University of Barcelona and specialist in governance, ethics and data protection and administrative records in public administration, tourism regulations and universal accessibility. For 20 years I directed the Tourism Registry of Catalonia, highlighting the adaptation of tourism regulations to European directives and the approval of the regulation of housing for tourist uses (short term rentals).
