All Speakers Speaker Peter Haxton Position: Senior Policy Analyst, Tourism Policy and Analysis Company: OECD Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities Peter is a Senior Policy Analyst with the OECD. From 2010-2021 he supported the work of the OECD Tourism Committee, and then the Regional Development Policy Committee (2021-23), where he coordinated the Regional Development and Multi-level Governance (RDG) Division’s work on Rethinking Regional Attractiveness in the New Global Environment, undertaken with the support of DG REGIO. Peter recently returned to Tourism Policy and Analysis to coordinate the OECD’s work under the EU’s Technical Support Instrument (TSI) Programme, with a particular focus on supporting countries to move towards more sustainable, resilient and digital tourism sectors. Previously he supported the work of the OECD Tourism Committee on Managing Tourism Development for a Sustainable and Inclusive Recovery in the post-COVID-19 era, and Preparing the Tourism Workforce for the Digital Future. Peter has held Senior Policy Advisor roles with the London Development Agency, Tourism Queensland, and the Australian Department of Industry, Science and Resources. He holds a Bachelor of Administration (Hons Class 1) from James Cook University, Townsville, and a PhD from the UTS Business School at the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia.
